Dear Ready Springs Families and Community Partners,

I am thrilled to return to Nevada County and serve as the new principal of Ready Springs School! I was born in San Jose. My family moved to Grass Valley when I was ten, and I attended elementary, middle, and high school right here in our local community. This area has shaped who I am, and I am grateful to be back home, where I can give back to the place that has given me so much.

After graduating from Chico State, I began my teaching career in Santa Rosa, where I met my wife, who is also a teacher! We have twins (a boy and a girl) who are teachers as well. I have taught at both the elementary and middle school levels for the bulk of my career. Ten years ago, I decided to become a principal, and I have served as the principal of an elementary school in Santa Rosa for the last nine years. This summer, we made the move to Penn Valley, and I’m honored to now be a part of the Ready Springs staff and community.

In my spare time, I enjoy cars, playing sports (basketball, golf, and pickleball), water sports, building, creating, and fixing broken things.

We are small enough to know every child personally, yet large enough to offer rich academic and social-emotional programs. As your principal, I believe deeply in teamwork, striving to be your best, and treating others with kindness and respect. I also believe that students learn best when they feel comfortable, supported, and happy at school, and that will be a top priority for me every day.

As we begin this new chapter together, I’m excited to continue building on the outstanding programs already in place, including:

Meaningful Enrichment (Me Time)

A dedicated time each day to meet students where they are academically—offering support or enrichment based on individual needs.

We encourage you to talk with your child about the value of showing up every day, on time, ready to learn. Together, we can help all students thrive.
